What is Golden Crown?
When products with increased levels of nitrogen are sprayed, it can sometimes cause temporary yellow or brown tips known as 'Golden Crown.' Rest assured, this does NOT occur because of over-application.
The discoloration happens because lawns aren't accustomed to high-nitrogen products. Upon next mowing, tips are removed and turf becomes lush and deep green due to the Nitrogen!
